With kids packed up in the car ready to go, Noosa lies just 90 minutes north of Brisbane making it a quick trip up the coast. Some of the best things to do with kids in Noosa takes full advantage of the atmosphere and adventure Noosa has to offer – you won’t find any pent up energy here!
From Noosa Main Beach to Noosa River, there are so many water activities to enjoy as a family. we’d suggest walking along the coastal trail of Noosa National Park to some of Noosa’s most pristine beaches, they are un-patrolled so you’ll need to keep an extra set of eyes out for currents. Otherwise, grab an ice-cream cone from Hastings Street and have a picnic on Noosa Main Beach. Activities like surfing and SUP rentals are also available here, ideal for getting the kids to surf for the first time or a way to add some additional exercise into your trip.
With so many waterways around Noosa, we have found traveling by boat to be the best way for the kids to see and explore swimming holes, beaches, and the Noosa River. Dock the boat and stay in seemingly deserted islands off the river’s tributaries, swim in crystal clear water, and make sure you bring snorkels for the kids to explore down below. You can hire a boat to rent, or choose a more relaxing path and opt for a guided cruise and BBQ lunch.
If land is more your style, head to the Noosa River Pirate Playground in Noosaville, bike along coastal trails, or make it a day trip and take a 4WD vehicle out to Rainbow Beach to see the coloured sands. On a rainy day, head to Sea Life, an aquarium located in Mooloolaba for the kids to get in touch with some of the sea creatures around them.
Noosa is much like an outdoor theme park, complete with jaw-dropping scenery that’s to please both our kids and us. At any age, you’ll find something that both you and the kids can feel adventurous in doing.
