We were fortunate to attend the Noosa Eat and Drink Festival Village 2024 at the weekend. In Noosa Woods, surrounded by the vibrant buzz of food enthusiasts and the tantalizing aromas of gourmet cuisine. We bounced through festival grounds with our reusable Noosa glass, overindulging at every turn. We were treated to a visual and sensory feast.
Girls were decked in trendy bohemian prints that we have come to expect in Noosa, while the guys brought out their crisp white linen shirts. Armed with our gumboots to tackle a little mud, we fully embraced the foodie atmosphere by treating ourselves to all the delicious offerings.
Renowned Chefs on Centre Stage
On the Main Stage, we watched culinary maestros like Sergio Perera, Anna Polyviou, and George Calombaris in action. Each chef demonstration is a masterclass in culinary artistry, blending techniques and flavours that inspire and delight. From the precision of knife skills to the sizzle of ingredients hitting the pan, the chefs bring their unique styles and personalities to the forefront.
Our Highlight Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris
As a die-hard old school Master Chef fan, there was this one moment on Saturdays that we were super excited about. Gary Mehigan, our host, and George Calombaris together again. Gary energised the audience with selfies and shoutouts. Gary and George’s chemistry on stage highlights the primary reason why Master Chef used to be such a popular show when they hosted it, as they bounced off each other effortlessly.
Taste the Local Flavor
Between chef demonstrations, we explored the Festival Village, where stalls offered a taste of Noosa’s finest local produce. We savoured the crisp notes of XO Wine Co’s selections, the bold flavours of Vivir Tequila, and the refreshing brews from Noosaville-based Boiling Pot Brewery. Every sip and bite told a story of the region’s rich agricultural heritage and innovative spirit. Additionally, we took shelter from the rain under the tents of major sponsors Noosa Heads Brewery and Chandon Garden Spritz. Many sponsors were offering free giveaways of hats and visors to those lucky enough to get them.
Engaging Competitions and Entertainment
We cheered on our favorite chefs and celebrities in friendly cooking competitions that added a dash of excitement to the day. The Olympians vs. Chefs contest promised fun and laughter, showcasing culinary skills, teamwork, and creativity.
Live Music and Atmosphere
We enjoyed live entertainment from Du’s Joskie & Jed and Bermuda Social as the sun began to set. The rhythm of the music, combined with the ambient chatter and laughter of fellow festival-goers, created an atmosphere of pure joy and celebration.
