Journey Back in Time
The Apollonian Hotel, Boreen Point, has a rich history connected to the Queensland Gold Rush. Miners were its primary customers when it opened in 1868, serving them with food, drinks, and entertainment. The hotel’s name was inspired by the Greek god of music and was previously a music hall hotel. It is now one of the few remaining in the country, still hosting regular live gigs and events. This atmospheric hotel seems to have earned the blessings of the Greek gods.
Food options
True to its era, the Apollonian Hotel exudes colonial styling and architecture. If you shut your eyes, take a deep breath, you will smell the Smoke House and be taken back in time. Well known for its weekend spit roasts, the Apollonian caters to all, especially meat lovers with beef brisket burgers, pulled pork, finger lick’n sticky chicken wing, big BBQ plates, and there are vegetarian options such as loaded potatoes.

Situated on 2.5 acres with large grassy lawns, surrounded by shady trees, it makes the perfect place to come with kids. Let the children roam, visit the chickens or kick a ball while you enjoy some well need r and r in the beer garden. If it’s winter, sit by the fire, get cosy and enjoy the friendly banter of the bar staff and locals.

The Apollonian also offers budget accomodation in some historic railways barracks relocated from Maryborough in the 1980s.
