Accommodation Options

Habitat Noosa, or Elanda Point, is based close to the banks of Lake Cootharaba within the National Park on 65 acres of land. Surrounded by nature, you could be lucky enough to enjoy Habitat Noosa Camping right next to grey kangaroos, goannas and extremely tame kookaburras.

Other accommodation options include cabins, glamping, powered and unpowered sites for camper vans and trailers or unpowered spots for tents. The weekends have a tendency to get busy, but Monday to Friday, the crowds go back to work, and things become more peaceful. You can bring a brazier for a fire, but it must be enclosed and off the ground.

The Facilities

The facilities such as the toilets and camp kitchen are of a high standard and are frequently cleaned. There is also a bar/bistro, which you must book in advance if you are dining, especially on the weekend. Be sure to try the unique-tasting beer brewed there by Eco Brewing. Treat the kids to ice cream, and don’t miss your coffee fix in the morning; the bistro serves the region’s popular First Batch coffee.

Things to do

The eco-camp has its own beachfront view of Lake Cootharaba, a large saltwater lake, part of the Noosa River, and the Everglades gateway. The lake is shallow, making for a great place to swim with kids and well known for water sports such as sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. Habitat has its own stock of kayaks, SUPs and boats for hire or motor boats. Make sure you give 24hour notice before booking a motorboat.

Explore Lake Cootharabah, Noosa River and Noosa Everglades under your own steam in your own time or book a tour with Everglades Eco Safaris, which are also based on site. The tour is a relaxing way to see the area’s wilderness and includes a roast dinner when you get back to Habitat. Several walking trails are accessible from the camp of various lengths, but be sure to pack your mosquito repellent, especially after it has rained.
