Queenslanders are genuinely spoilt with sunshine and what feels like endless days filled with blue skies and balmy evenings. But what about the odd day or two when the weather is a little dreary and wet? Well, Noosa provides an array of rainy day activities for travellers to enjoy, so here are some of our favourite.
Visit the Sea Life Aquarium
Noosa’s perfect placement on the coastline will likely spark your curiosity to learn more about the incredible underwater life. So follow your search and witness marine creatures up close at Sea Life Sunshine Coast Aquarium. Based in Maroochydore, a 40-minute drive from Noosa Heads will lead you there. Spend the day learning about seals, getting up close with tropical fish or walking through the ocean tunnel to watch sharks calmly swim over you.

The Noosa Brewery Trail will take you to 4 of the top local breweries including Boiling Pot, Heads of Noosa, Terella Brewing and Land and Sea Brewery. You won’t care about the rain once you have tried a tasting paddle of freshly brewed ale at each brewery.

Journey Back in Time on the Mary Valley Rattler Heritage Railway
For those who enjoy finding out about the local history and like to stay dry, this is the perfect rainy day activity from Noosa. Watch the greenery of the Mary Valley glide by from the comfort of your carriage whilst nibbling on refreshments provided. The Mary Valley line starts in the old mining city of Gympie, a 50-minute drive from Noosa Heads, and continues to the rural town of Amamoor. A Return trip on the Mary Valley Rattler will take approximately 3 hours.
