Whether you’re looking for the perfect shot, or somewhere to stop and watch the sunset; Noosa has an array of incredible landscapes to explore. This scenic stretch of paradise is filled with incredible vantage points to experience the view over the ocean, or across the hinterland. As always, for the best lighting and fewer crowds, visit early in the morning to avoid the heat and enjoy the soft, diffused light.
Mount Tinbeerwah is a 20-minute drive from Noosa Heads, making it an enjoyable half or a full day trip. Take a short one-kilometre return walk along a paved path through Tewantin National Park. Once you reach the fire tower, you will have access to 360-degree views across the shoreline spanning out across the Noosa River, Mount Coolum and Teewah Beach. If you are visiting on the weekend, aim to go early, as it is a popular day trip location and can get crowded quickly.
Sunshine Beach Lookout
Sunshine Beach is a five-minute drive from Noosa Heads, and a popular location for families to stay during their holiday in Noosa. From Seaview Terrace, walk to the end of the beach and to the beginning of the trail. Take a steep set of stairs towards the Sunshine Beach Lookout, just off Sunshine Beach and the sparkling ocean. If you are feeling motivated from the walk, continue along the Noosa Coastal Track for an 11-kilometre trail filled with coves and lookouts along the way.
Another scenic lookout set within Noosa National Park is Laguna Lookout. This circular platform overlooks Main Beach on one side with the glittering ocean surrounding. This elevated platform brings an incredible access point to observe the lush green natural landscape and views across the water.
Glass House Mountains
Hop in the car for a day trip to the Glass House Mountains, which are just a short one hour drive from Noosa. The mountains are dormant volcanoes, which form a picturesque outline over the surrounding land. Explore the rugged mountains and hike amongst the national park, with lookouts scattered throughout the lush natural scenery.
Emu Mountain, Coolum Beach
From Noosa National Park, explore the Emu Mountain section from Havana Road East. This walk is moderate and rises 71 metres above sea level. Emu Mountain is not entirely a tourist destination making it a quieter escape from the rest of Noosa. The walk is relatively easy, and it can turn into a loop, making it an incredible journey through the national park. The view of the coastline makes it a great place to watch the sunrise. Alternatively, if you are feeling like a challenge, take on Mount Coolum instead, which sits 208 metres above sea level and showcases views across the Sunshine Coast.
