Noosa’s luxe beach-chic vibe leaves some room to move when it comes to the town’s dress code. By day, Noosa has a casual charm, and by night it turns into a sophisticated, chic hub. The gorgeous scenery and outdoor activities all within a stone’s throw of town means that anything goes when it comes to dress code. However, when planning and packing for your adventure, here’s a detailed outline to help you arrive prepared.
Hastings Street brings an elegant feel, with many beautiful restaurants and boutiques. On any given day, you will notice both men and women in clothed in linen, each well dressed and fashionable. The street transforms by night thanks to its upbeat dining scene, with sparkling lights and the echoes of glasses clinking down the walkways. Late-night fashion steps it up, with a mix of elegantly dressed diners all the way through to more casual visitors; be sure to bring some decent shoes to get you through the night. Often closed-in dress shoes or heels can be seen throughout; however, neither of these are a requirement.
When morning comes, and you head straight for the beach, you will see a mix of people in bathing suits and beach clothing. Australia’s powerful sun can’t be forgotten, so if you plan on spending an extended time in the sun, pack your hat, sunglasses and some long sleeve clothing to protect yourself. Bring your towel and a couple of bathing suits, so that each day you have a dry pair ready to go. Add to that your flip-flops or sandals to go from street side to beachside in an instant.
A walk through Noosa National Park will refresh and reignite you. Depending on the trail you choose, exercise clothing and walking shoes will suffice, unless you are ready to take on a more extreme track; in which case, hiking boots will come in handy. Bring your mosquito spray and sunscreen, which will need to be applied regularly too. Take a backpack with your swimmers and towel, so that you can stop by the many beautiful coves along the journey at ease.
When it comes to electronics, be sure to pack your camera and maybe a GoPro to capture the memory of surfing, swimming or exploring.
Depending on the time of year, Noosa’s weather can vary. In the winter months, be sure to pack warm clothes as the temperature drops. Due to the town’s seaside location, the wind rolls off the water, making it a little cooler than surrounding areas. Even if you are visiting in the summer, bring a light jacket for the odd night or two when the sea breeze picks up.
Throughout Noosa, the array of shops make it easy for you to rent or purchase whatever you may have forgotten, and you will quickly be able to pick up any item you need. From surfboards to snorkelling gear and everything in between, you will find a choice of shopping precincts nearby, and boutiques along the main street.
